​​In the ALGARVE BIKE CHALLENGE riders will race in teams of two.

Team members can be of different age and gender.

At the Checkpoints (CP) and at the Finish line, the team result is only validated when the two team members are present at the same time.

 

In order to crate a more competitive race the ABC will only have one category although will be established a Bonus system setted by the rider's age and gender.

Classifications  and Bonus 

Teams will be classified under one category only with bonuses by age and gender.

The Team will benefict from the bonus of his bonused member.​

Bonuses of Team members will not be cumulative.

​

All the female riders will benefict fom a 15% Bonus.​

All the riders above 40 years old will benefict from the handicaps below:

        =>40 =<45                     3%
        =>46 =<50                     6%
        =>51 =<55                     9%
        =>56 =<60                   15%
        =>61 =<65                   20%
        =>66                             25%
 

 

The female riders will benefict from both female gender bonus plus age bonus.

Time bonuses are given as an anticipation of the start time, according to the best estimated stage completion time.
By this procedure, the Team that crosses the finish line first is the stage winner.

The ALGARVE BIKE CHALLENGE winning team will be the one who ride the two stages in less time.
